While watching this video, I was so surprised of the facts that were given. I cannot believe that only ten years ago there were no social networks and that only ten years before then we didn't even have the web! It makes me question as to where we would be today if we would have never received such things. The video also make me realize that there is so much to learn beyond college. I mean, the world is growing and changing everyday; and for some of us it is a struggle to even keep up! We need to learn more about technology and how it is effecting us. The future of work is flat, I completely agree. We barely live without computers, and without being properly educated we will not be able to move forward. Books aren't "bad", but a child would rather be learning visually. The children of our generation will run our future and I feel as though they must be educated properly.
After watching the video on The Future Of Work, I thought back about how my educational experiences have prepared me for the future. I came to the conclusion that I am totally lost. We live in a world full of social networks, media, companies that only rely on the web and so much more, but I am not classified nor do I have the slightest idea about how to go about the future of work. Being 19, you would think I would know a little more about computers and networks and how things work over the web; but age has nothing to do with it. My father is 44 years old and can work websites better than me, create amazing things, get into a computer if necessary, and so many other skills. I believe we need better education in the technology fields. We need to better educate, and get children and middle school and high school kids interested in the future. They are the ones who will be providing the work and running this world.
